It's a Web site that allows users to create graphic art, then the users vote on the designs. The graphics with the most "yes" votes then get screened on to t-shirts, hoodies and baby onesies. Recently, this company expanded to a physical store and to selling art prints.

I would really like to try to analyze icanhascheezburger or its sister Web site Pundit Kitchen, but I think that might be a bit harder. As you probably know, these are Web sites that put funny captions on pictures. It sounds simple, but I think that might be a problem. I would consider this a Web 2.0 technology. Though this community might be harder to analyze, I think I actually might find more "academic" resources for it.

I am torn on these two. Both are great ideas. I think you could make either of them work for you, but my gut instinct might be the cat sayings. It seems, from the outside, that it might strive more for community. I like the idea of the community voting on the shirts, but when folks are done there is a tangible product, right? That's what really interesting about the cat site. What do people get out of it? Why do they flock there? What's in it for them as far as language usage?
To make your choice, you might try coming up with a thesis for each. What can you argue about each site? You might kick out a thesis for each site and then float em past folks in group work Thursday.
